Students will work in pairs to figure out the fingerings as they fill out a recorder fingering chart Brace Map. The class will then say the names of the notes aloud as they finger the piece of music on the recorder (beginning with a very slow tempo and increasing it each time the class practices it together).
Students will sing the notes using Do, Re and Mi in pairs and then as a whole
group with piano accompaniment. Students will then play their recorders while
being audio recorded into Audioboo (LINK: http://audioboo.fm/ElementaryMusic) and then individuals will be recorded via Flipcam and posted into their Vimeo account portfolio (www.Vimeo.com). Those students who receive an 80% proficiency grade or higher will receive a yellow belt for their recorder.
